The Service Interprofessionnel de Santé au Travail Ouest Normandie (SIST Ouest Normandie), through its more than 20 occupational health and prevention centers, offers a range of services tailored to the needs of every employee and company in the region, whatever their sector of activity (excluding construction and agriculture). The occupational health service supports 13,000 companies and 137,000 employees. The association employs over 175 staff, including some thirty doctors. The Manche branch is located in Saint-Lô.

The administrative unit covers an entire geographical area, including the central-eastern part of the department. Bordering Calvados, just a few dozen kilometers from the coast (both the eastern Cotentin and the west coast), the Communauté d'Agglomération Saint-Lô Agglo encompasses the prefectural city and almost a hundred surrounding communes, in a preserved natural environment, between Vire and the hills. More than 75,000 people live here.
