A point of extreme activity, the port of Mbour is the second largest fishing port in Senegal. It is here that you will be able to attend (around 5pm) the return of the fishermen, sometimes returning from several days at sea. In the middle of the colourful pirogues, the women scale and shell the fish, before selling them on the spot. The smell and the effervescence that reign there are indescribable. Further on, transporters wait for the cargoes to be transported to the regions or taken directly to Dakar, before reaching European markets.

The arrival of fishermen is unusual to see. Everything is done with old. Each is proud to have his findings. Fish are placed on the floor. Many different and intriguing varieties. We are in the heart of the Senegalese life. It is worth accompanied by a guide.
The best at Mbour and around
