Lecompte is a small, quiet town located 15-20 minutes drive from Cheneyville and Alexandria. It is part of Rapides Parish and has a population of less than 1,000. People come here for two main reasons, starting with Lea's Lunchroom's famous homemade pies that draw crowds. It's also a great place for breakfast and lunch at a low price. Then there's the historic Lecompte High School, which is free to visit and includes a war memorial, an agricultural museum, a library and more than 2,000 vintage photographs.
