About 85 km from Natal, a dozen coconut trees bent by the west trade winds lean over fishermen's houses and the green water. This nice village which shelters a community of fishermen is in the municipality of Caguaretama. It is one of the most spectacular and little known landscapes of the 400 km of the Rio Grande do Norte coastline. It is here that the river turns into the sea (or the other way around, depending on the position of the winds). Like a mirage, an optical illusion makes the sea and the river merge. There are also beautiful dunes, mangroves, deserted beaches and bird watching trails.
