A picture-postcard village, 100 km from Natal. A wild cove protected from the trade winds by red clay cliffs sculpted by the wind. To the south, a rocky cape hemmed in by coconut palms. The water is transparent and turquoise, with reefs forming warm-water lagoons where you can spend the day. Pipa sits on a hill, organized around a sandy main street and overlooking a bay and lagoon with numerous beaches such as Guaraíras, Dolphin Bay, Praia do Amor, Madeiro and Cacimbinhas. Visitors come here for sporting activities (surfing, kitesurfing, kayaking...)... or to admire the scenery. Nature is omnipresent, with its cliffs, dolphins (which have given their name to one of Pipa's beaches) and the sea turtle nursery of the TAMAR project, a veritable ecological sanctuary... A small seaside resort that has become very popular since it was discovered by surfers in the 1980s. Here you'll find magical inns lost in the greenery. On the bougainvillea-covered main street, one bar follows another. The locals are relaxed. There are still a few fishermen, but it's the tourists who now bring the village to life. The atmosphere is always friendly and festive, and people talk easily. The sounds of music can be heard in every corner of the little town. Pagoda, rock, blues, reggae, forró, local music... The pousadas are numerous, but often of high quality. With all the hustle and bustle, it's hard to sleep in the center of town. An indisputable taste of a return visit.
