Triunfo is a charming town nestled in the mountains, at an altitude of 1,000 m, on the banks of an açude (water reservoir). Its location and the presence of the lake give it a temperate and pleasant climate, and the town has plenty of flowers. It is a popular stopover, not only because of the contrast it offers with the heat-stricken plains (finally some air!), but also for its cultural attractions. Nice streets, some interesting buildings, a Cangaço museum. Finally, not far away, Serra Talhada, the native village of Lampião, the most famous cangaceiro, honorary bandit for some, highwayman for others.
