Mojkovac has the advantage of being well situated between the national parks of Biogradska Gora and Durmitor. Here was installed by King Uroš the first Serbian coin factory in the 14th century: Mojkovac is the abbreviation of Moj kovani novac (My forged coin). Mojkovac is also the scene of a major victory: in January 1916, the Montenegrins succeeded in pushing back the Austro-Hungarians who outnumbered them three to one. This allowed the Serbian army to continue its retreat to the Greek island of Corfu where it was to be reconstituted with the French army in the Armée d'Orient.
