Towards Mökhö, some 20 km east of Ilomantsi. This national park, together with Patvinsuo National Park, is part of the North Karelia Biosphere Reserve, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992. At the Park House on Petkeljärventie 61, you'll find all the information you need on the park's natural and cultural heritage. Beautiful landscapes combining morainic hills, lake systems, pine moors, swamps and meadows. Two easy marked trails and a Taitajan Taival hiking trail leading to the village of Putkela (22 km). Camping available on the Petraniemi site.
