70 km north of Helsinki, in the southern province of Häme on the edge of the Salpausselkä hill, the town (population 28,781 in 2020) is worth a visit primarily for its museums. Historically, the city was a railway crossroads, which enabled it to develop its industries. Today, it remains a dynamic city that knows how to exploit the potential of its natural and cultural environment, and is home to three charming museums: the Art Museum, the Hunting Museum and the Museum of the History of Glassmaking in Finland since the 17th century. Perfect for a cultural break between two walks!
