Keuruu (population 9,543) is a charming little village on the northern shores of Lake Keurusselkä, home to one of Finland's most interesting wooden churches. Keuruu's church is one of the finest examples of 19th-century Finnish architecture. The murals are exceptional, and you can admire a gallery of portraits of biblical characters. And don't hesitate to drop in at the busy tourist office, where you'll find all the information you need to enjoy the region. It also houses the town museum, Internet access and a café-restaurant. Nice walks start from here.
