35 000 inhabitants. Aloushta is Ukraine's second largest seaside resort after Yalta. It is known for its sanatoria where heart, respiratory and nervous diseases are treated. According to archaeologists, the city has been inhabited since the th century. Like the entire south coast of Crimea, Aloushta was occupied by the Tatars in 1475. This city suffered great damage during the Second World War. Quickly rebuilt in Soviet style, it has become a famous resort, but it has also lost its charm. Aloushta is often compared to Yalta, but the city is much less elegant and prices, even even more affordable, remain very high. This city is the favourite destination of families on holiday and in summer it is literally overrun by tourists and becomes chaotic and little pleasant. Among its natural attractions, which are worth a lot of world, you can cite Mount Kastel and its fortress, Karassan park, Djour-Djour waterfall or the Ghosts valley.
