The Carpathians have long acquired a reputation as a healing region, offering various spa resorts. In 1827 the mayor of the city Yuzef Mitsevski obtained the agreement of the Viennese authorities to open the first spa. When this massif still belonged to Austria-Hungary, these resorts were already in operation and people came from all over. In addition to the invigorating mountain air, some areas of the Carpathians have mineral springs with beneficial effects. Finally, the mountain rivers have particularly pure water. Thus, tourists from all walks of life have been coming here for a long time to rest, invigorate and restore their health. The most famous spring, Naftussia, is located in Trouskavets, which has become the largest and most famous spa in Ukraine. Apart from its very picturesque charm, Trouskavets has fourteen mineral springs, in addition to Naftussia, the most famous are Maria, Sofia and Youssa. In short, everything was there to welcome a perfect Soviet holiday, and indeed, under the USSR, tourists came here in droves. Today, Ukrainians continue to come to treat their diabetes and kidney infections. But the place is not only reserved for thermalism. Every traveller will appreciate resting and resting in the fresh air and in the beauty of the subcarpathian mountain, which offers many magnificent walks.
