Located 23 km from Tacuarembó on Route 26 leading to Paysandú, Valle Edén is a popular destination, famous for its green mountains and caves, especially "Los Galpones" which is located in the heart of the sierra, near the Tambores River. Two kilometers away, the Cerro Cementerio, an ancient indigenous cemetery, contains the remains of tombs dug into the rock. A suspension bridge dating from 1928, built by the founder of the city, Don Gregorio Simón Viera, spans the Jabonería River. The old pulpería, frequented by the famous tango singer Carlos Gardel, is now the Gardel Museum, a must for fans of the artist.
