Located 25 km south of Tacuarembó on route 5 is Cerro Batovi, a 230 meter high hill that is not inconspicuous, visible from the road. It is a real local celebrity! With such an evocative name in Guaraní, which means "woman's breast", it is impossible not to notice it. We can say that this hill has a singular charm! Cerro Batovi belongs to the Cuchilla de los Once Cerros, a group of hills with the peculiarity of having flattened tops, and is 200 million years old. A true symbol of the department, in 1960 it was declared historical and cultural heritage of the region.
