A 3 km north of the city, the swimmer will be amazed by its small waterfalls, its panorama, beaches and the fisherman will find some bright spots. To the south, at the level of km 463 of the 3 Ruta, extends the Meseta de Artigas (literally the plateau of Artigas), a strategic place that the famous general chooses to gather its troops. The bust of Artigas contemplates the plain and its many eucalyptus from the top of a granite column of 37 m. On the Meseta, you also find the Casona del Patriarca which allows the visitor to rest. This plateau of metres of altitude overlooks the Río Uruguay in which it falls by a ravine.
