Mangi sano vivi bene. This is the credo of the Leonardo, dedicated to Italian cuisine geared towards well-being. In addition to traditional pizzas, fresh vegetables, fresh pasta, meats and fish a la plancha, there's the star product: focaccia, straight from Pane, Amore e Fantasia. To complete this high-quality cuisine, gluten-free dishes are also available. You can enjoy all this in a refined, designer atmosphere (takeaway also available). When the weather's nice, you'll love the large terrace overlooking the piazza.

Located on the first floor of the Mix Shop, opposite the upper entrance of Fnac, the Petit Thaï is an excellent address for eating at a low price: Ginger chicken chicken, matsaman curry beef, cashew shrimp, cashew shrimp and many more. The service is very fast and the friendly staff. Non-smoking room.

Ma-Jong is an Asian fast-food restaurant that breaks away from the Swiss norm, with takeaway boxes of Chinese noodles or more elaborate on-site dishes. Excellent pad thai and hearty ramen! The place has opened a second floor that doubles as a sushi bar and karaoke bar (Thursday, Friday and Saturday). The owner, who worked with Japanese for ten years, has decided to offer traditional sushi at affordable prices. Also worth trying: Asian beers such as Tsingtao. A well-known address among regulars.

Located on the grounds of the Vidy campsite, this restaurant offers a friendly, relaxed setting. With its large lakeside terrace surrounded by trees, Les Berges de Vidy is the ideal place to stop for a meal or just an ice cream. Under Orangina umbrellas, you can enjoy delicious perch fillets or simpler fare such as cheese crusts and pizzas. The Breton pancake bar also serves excellent buckwheat pancakes. Flip-flops and pétanque atmosphere guaranteed all day long!

Another dimension, this time from the lake. It's an exploration not to be missed, a cruise aboard one of the Belle Époque boats on the lake. The cruise offers beautiful panoramic views of the Lavaux terraces and the Swiss Riviera, and the Alps on the French side. CGN offers a wide variety of gourmet cruises, including the "festival des fondues" (cheese or wine fondues), or "lunches on the lake", or chef's suggestions. The large glass-walled dining room, decorated with a number of Olympic trophies, allows you to stay in the same Olympic atmosphere, with your eyes lost in the splendor of the panorama. The menu is unpretentious, offering fish (we're finally spared the perch fillets), burgers and salads. An unmissable break.

The Pop Up Canteen practices participative cooking, with restaurant owners taking over different locations for several weeks or a weekend. A more than original concept that benefits everyone. For us gourmands, it's an opportunity for eternal discovery and for the restaurant owners, the pleasure of making themselves known! This is the art of street food and pop-up cuisine.

A recent establishment of Paris Zurich Catering, which also holds the restaurant (see article). This establishment specialises in domicile preparation. Subject to strict standards of quality and hygiene, they will save any skepticism! The principle is «take away» but it is also possible to eat on-site, in a small, tastefully decorated lounge. Salads and soups according to season, tartars and desserts, everything goes into practical and aesthetic packaging. A try absolutely!

Located just below the cathedral, L'Évêché is an institution in Lausanne where you can enjoy a gourmet and traditional cuisine in the heart of the old city. The list of fondues is long: four cheeses, with mushrooms, shallots, curry or even chilli. Brasserie dishes and the weekly menu complete the picture. In summer, the small shady garden at the back is particularly nice and bucolic, with a garland of light bulbs and small wrought iron tables. A historical and gourmet stopover in the heart of the city.

With your feet almost in the water! Facing the lake, the restaurant is well worth the detour for its large terrace opening onto a grandiose panorama. The concrete building and interior design are a little lacking in charm, but you'll be forgiven for feeling right at home. The menu includes salads, grills, pizzas and burgers. We recommend that you come for the delicious weekend brunch, return to watch the sunset and continue with a pizza while listening to a rock band. Very popular, great atmosphere!

The Poco Loco is a Mexican gourmet restaurant that has proven itself for more than twenty years. The atmosphere is resolutely tex-mex, with wooden chairs painted in bright colors, yellow walls and turquoise columns. This bar-restaurant serves classic Mexican cuisine as well as more original dishes such as stir-fried chicken or shrimp. The ingredients are fresh and spicy. The setting is very pleasant, go there especially to spend a 100% Latina evening and dance the salsa afterwards in the adjoining Movida bar!

Wood panelling, mirrors and photos of singing stars straight out of the 1950s provide a warm setting for savouring refined cuisine that's both traditional and inventive, with creative and meticulous presentation. The menu is presented on a slate and varies according to season and market produce, and the service is excellent. Everything is delicious, perhaps noisy at times, but the brasserie atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. A few tables are set up outside on sunny days. A recommended address, remember to make a reservation.

Located in the heart of the old town, this Italian restaurant has a beautiful setting. The interior, with exposed beams, is elegant. The staff come to your table presenting the suggestions of the day. Well cooked fish, fresh ravioli… Here, we are not limited to pizzas and pasta, and serves more evolved, subtle and delicious Italian cuisine, but whose price seems somewhat overvalued. That said, the atmosphere is warm and the choice of wines very wide.

If the location and a little eccentric can deter more than one, the restaurant charm will change your mind. White and green dressed, Aux Trois Petites offers a small map with delicious dishes. Nice green terrace. Only caveat, a little bit expensive compared to the quantity.

The setting is warm and inviting in winter, with exposed beams in the brasserie, cosy in the restaurant, and pleasant on sunny days, with its terrace adorned with green plants. The restaurant is popular with groups and can be very noisy.

Charming tea room restaurant with garden tables and chairs, in the heart of the Mon-Repos park. Breakfast, salads and, in the afternoon, pies and excellent home-made ice creams are served. No reservation is possible, think about going there early especially if you want to have brunch on Sunday! In this wooded and poetic setting, the Folie Voltaire co-organizes the Digitales, a festival of electronic music, or open-air film screenings. The restaurant then closes later. A very original favourite to discover.

A delicious Vietnamese restaurant and convenient prices, which is not the case at most Asian tables in Switzerland. The regulars recommend Bo Bun. After a fire, the decoration was completely redone, in a rather cosy style with red walls. Nice terrace in summer. The staff is adorable.

Ah, Thailand and its flavors that are an invitation to travel, a departure to the unique aromas of Siam! They're exactly the same ones that make you feel like you're back in Bangkok, sitting in a gargote, or elsewhere in the country. Simply delicious: tom kha gai, chicken in coconut milk, curry, pad thai or papaya salad. The restaurant is a well-deserved success. Small, unpretentious storefront, close to the lake. We offer a range of fresh takeaways. A trip to Siamese gastronomy recommended!

A few days after its opening in 2009, the establishment was already a great success. It must be said that the reputation of its owners, who also own the Café de Grancy, is well established. The place, trendy without being pretentious, is lively and welcoming. In the mornings, we devour freshly baked toast and fruit juices. At noon, you can enjoy seasonal cuisine and in the evening, you can choose tapas and antipasti from a humorous menu with humorous titles on pretty Eames chairs, before sitting down to a good brunch on the weekend.

Café du Simplon is actually two establishments in one. On one side, the trendy Mediterranean cuisine restaurant, very refined, with immaculate walls and raw wooden floors. But this place is no less friendly, especially in summer when the terrace gives a village festival atmosphere to this district under the station. The menu includes both meat dishes from the neighbouring butcher's shop as well as fish delivered daily and vegetarian dishes, with specialities that are dear to the owner of Macedonian origin. On the other hand, the bistro to have good beers.

Ah, to spend a pleasant evening at the theater, enhanced before or after the show by a fine dinner! The setting is very pleasant, with a well thought-out design, cosy in winter and a lovely shady terrace, away from the urban frenzy, on summer evenings. The establishment offers classic French and Italian cuisine, including a good choice of pizzas at more modest prices for those on a tight budget - the prices are indeed high. The food is good, and so is the service. Don't forget to book, especially in summer.

In the heart of the Sauvabelin woods, you can enjoy a local cuisine with fresh products cooked exclusively at the minute. All dishes and wines are exclusively of Swiss origin. On the menu, you will find a wide variety of fondues, röstis, beef tartar, homemade pies and perch fillets. The atmosphere is intended to depict a Switzerland of yesteryear in a sober, elegant setting. After a good dose of hearty food, there's nothing like a trip around the little lake of Sauvabelin.

Chinese restaurant with discreet decor and reasonable prices, which is rare for this kind of establishment in Switzerland. Dynasty sees itself as a fast-food, but in reality it works like any restaurant and the server comes to take orders. But, unlike a restaurant, you are sure to be served quickly! At lunchtime, clients are mainly employees working in the neighbourhood. On sunny days, you enjoy the large balcony overlooking the square of Saint Francis.

La Coccinelle Café is a spacious and warm restaurant or tea room, with a dominant sunny color. The cuisine is simple and offers a little bit of everything, with an emphasis on fresh products: pasta, burgers, sandwiches, big salads or jacket potatoes. For dessert, the homemade pies are very good, especially the apple pie. Outside of the meals, you can enjoy the good atmosphere of the place and the small library for a moment of reading accompanied by a succulent hot chocolate. In summer, you can sit on the few tables outside.

With a touch of South America in mind, head for Peru with a virtual dive into South American empanada bars, a dip in Peruvian chicha culture; we're talking empanadas! You'll find something to suit every taste, from the most traditional to the newest and newest flavors, some of which are adapted to local, Swiss-inspired tastes. Although there are a few seats, Tayta's main focus is on take-away sales. Todo es hecho no in Peru, mas aqui in casa, which means home-made. Handcrafted empanadas, cooked on the spot the same day.

Located in the heart of Lausanne, the Pavilion's large terrace stretches all the way to the Place de la Riponne. Here, people come at any time of the day to enjoy a coffee in the sun (or under the covered terrace, depending on the weather), as well as very good cocktails. The menu also features good small dishes to accompany your drinks. Suggestions change weekly, but the regulars also enjoy a good pizza, served on its wooden board. Pleasant welcome and beautiful decoration in the dining room.
