This small town can be a stopover on the road to N'Zérékoré or to the Ivory Coast. The town (and its surroundings) was very popular in colonial times for its mild climate and tobacco plantations. Today, all that remains of this past grandeur are some old tobacco sheds, as well as a few abandoned residences and swimming pools. The city is divided into two parts. The first, on the Kerouané-N'Zérékoré axis, is the most recent, with the market, the hospital, the chapel, etc. If you continue along the road towards Sinko, you will arrive at the old town, around the large mosque. Note that the town is located near Mount Simandou, whose iron reserves are the subject of a very important integrated mining-infrastructure project.
