Koszalin is a medium-sized, rather imposing town, and one of the most densely populated in the region. It is located in a beautiful corner of the Baltic coast, the Koszaliński coast, open to the Dzierżęcinka river and set not far from the shores of the superb brackish water lakes of Jamno and Lubiatowo Północne. It's a special town, preserving traces of many eras and boasting some fine architectural relics, such as its rather successful Soviet town hall. On the outskirts of the town is an open-air museum, Zagroda Jamneńska, which recreates a typical village of the region. It's a great place to spend a day and a night.
