The tiny village of Rogalin (approx. 700 inhabitants), less than 15 km from Poznań, is mostly part of the protected Rogalin Nature Park. It boasts an 18th-century neoclassical palace converted into a museum, surrounded by a formal garden and outbuildings open to visitors. In the 18th century, Rogalin was the seat of the prominent Raczyński family, who had the palace built. In 1848, this small town was the headquarters of one of the Polish uprisings, which was crushed on the field of honor not far from the city. Its museum, recognized at the time as one of the most famous in the country, is well worth a visit.
