Located in the heart of the sub-prefectural city, this private hospital, a member of the Vivalto Santé Group, has 172 beds, 70 practitioners, over 200 employees and welcomes around 18,500 patients every year. In this hospital, where around 80% of stays are on an outpatient basis, there are several departments, including one for full hospitalization or outpatient surgery, another for polyvalent medicine, and another for oncology, for example. The facility also boasts a 38-strong nursing assistant training institute.

This public establishment for inter-municipal cooperation covers the entire southernmost part of the département, from the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel to the departments of Orne and Mayenne. With its maritime and bocage landscapes, the area includes several small urban centers, such as Avranches, Pontorson, Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouët and Mortain. Well served, it has a population of almost 90,000, and a historic heritage of the highest order, beyond that of Mont-Saint-Michel alone.

It is the largest facility in the Groupe Hospitalier Mont-Saint-Michel, which groups together all the entities in the south of France. The Avranches-Granville hospital center is spread over two sites some twenty kilometers apart, efficiently linked by an efficient road network, and boasts 800 hospital beds, 2,000 staff and over 120 doctors. Many medical specialties are practiced here, including gynecology, neonatology and emergency medicine.
