This small island, aptly nicknamed "Paradise Island", is just 1.5 km long and 300 m wide. Small, wild and deserted, it is surrounded by a necklace of coral reefs. Like a velvet coat beneath our feet, the white sand is soft. Opposite, the ocean declines in an impressive palette of blues. A church, small apartments and one of the first Portuguese hotels make up the island's colonial remains, including an exact replica of Dona Ana. It was here that Bob Dylan, inspired by the island's natural beauty and welcoming people, wrote his 1976 song Mozambique. To get there, excursions are organized from Vilankulo.
