Not so complicated to drive around the island, there are collectivos to go up and down the valley, and Porto novo is 1h30 by direct collectivo but be sure to catch one before 15-16h, after that it can be tricky and the hike up is steep (we learned it the hard way).
The food on site is quite convenient and the dinner tasty and generous, even better with the occasional love music !
Petra, Fabien and the rest of the team were very welcoming, they lent us hiking sticks and towels for the pool and gave us plenty of tips: they know the local hikes and fauna and flora very well.
If we’re back in Cape Verde we’ll certainly visit this place again :)
Het ligt verschrikkelijk afgelegen. Je kunt zonder auto of taxi dan ook nergens heen. We hebben 1/2 dag zonnig weer gehad. De rest was het bar koud en het regende. Het weer is natuurlijk niet hun schuld, maar: het ligt hoog in de bergen en je zit er gewoon vaak in een kille wolk.
De kamers ogen leuk aan de buitenkant, van binnen is het een luxe bunker. Bedden waren goed. Ontbijt: erg basic. Ik zou hier, als je dan toch per se wilt, niet langer dan 1 of 2 nachten blijven en dan weer verder. Er is erg weinig te beleven. Zelfs wandelen is nogal beperkt. Excursies met taxi's kan wel, maar doe dat dan vanaf een plek wat dichter bij de kust. scheelt een hoop tijd en geld. 4 of 5 sterren is echt teveel.
