On the river Mürz, north of Mürzzuschlag, a historical site. Here, in 1379, the two Habsburg brothers, Leopold III and Herzog Albrecht III, concluded a treaty to divide the territory. In 1496, a Gothic monastery replaced the old cloister where the treaty was signed. At the beginning of the 18th century, Neuberg saw the development of the iron industry, which was active until 1950. This large, quiet town is home to Emperor Franz Joseph's hunting lodge, which has been converted into a hunting museum. Only a few kilometres separate you from Altenberg, in the Rax valley.
