Stubenberg am See is a pretty small town situated in a green environment, just steps from the eponymous lake. The site presents several heritage interests. Near the park of Herberstein, a beautiful square fortress. In the th century, it was transformed into an elegant Renaissance castle, more for a pleasant stay than for fear of the enemy. Exhibitions, concerts and theatrical performances are regularly given. Schielleiten Castle, with its very wide façade reminiscent of Schönbrunn, was restored in the late 1980 s. It is located in the sports and cultural centre.
