In the east of Bad Gleichenberg, the village is known for its palace of Des, built on the location of an ancient fortress, raised by the same family in the th century. Since 1918 the castle belongs to the Winkler-Hermaden family, which has set up a hotel-restaurant in the renowned kitchen. You can also visit the vineyard and enjoy local production. There is a beautiful panorama of the castle terrace, perched on a volcanic hill.
