The lakeside village of Dedinky is the southern gateway to the Slovak Paradise. The hiking trails starting from Dedinky are well laid out and easy to access, an educational trail for children has even been created. Dedinky is only 30 km from the Slovak Karst plateaus and its maze of caves. In the summer, the developed shores of the lake serve as a beach and in the winter, when the ice is thick enough, it is a skater's delight. Nearby are Stratená (11 km), Dobšiná and its ice cave (13 km), Mlynky and its ski lifts (7 km), and hikes including the one to Geravy via the Zejmarska Gorge.
