Once restored in 1878, the first performance given there was an opera by Bellini. Note the façade decorated with busts of Neapolitan musicians (Scarlatti, Pergolesi). The horseshoe-shaped interior houses the dressing rooms on six levels one on top of the other. The fresco on the vault, The Triumph of Music, pays homage to Bellini.
