On July 16, a huge popular festival is held in the Piazza Mercato, near the Carmine church. Pilgrims gather to pray to the Madonna and sing her praises with fireworks.

For a week around September 8, this festival pays tribute to the Virgin and to Neapolitan song. A whole program of musical festivities takes place in the church of Piedigrotta in Mergellina. It's a very important festival for Neapolitans, who devote a veritable cult to song.

In early September, the city of Naples lives at the rhythm of a great feast both popular and religious, in honour of the Virgin of Piedigrotta. In the programme: " E appunto una festa di amore ", or of love in large quantities! Singing, dancing, devotion, jubilation, parade of floats… festivities of all kinds, starting on 7 or 8 September and extending throughout the week. The Neapolitan meet happily, without fear of noise and crowd. There are banquets and other fortune in the city and surrounding area. You can macaroni to macaroni with wines from Capri or Vesuvius. The aim of this event is to introduce the public to Neapolitan independent cinema, as well as European and Mediterranean films never before seen in Italy, with occasional exposure to Hollywood cinema. The numerous screenings and meetings take place at various venues in the city: the Metropolitan cinema, the French Institute, the PAN, etc.
