This small town is an excellent stopping-off point on the road from south to north. Kintampo is famous for being exactly halfway between Kumasi and Tamale. Nothing to get excited about, but every bus from the south of the country stops here. In Kintampo, ancient artefacts dating back to 1500 BC have been discovered in the Boyase Hills cave (on display at the National Museum in Accra). The yam market is well worth a visit, as are the town's two waterfalls. Two budget accommodation options: Cooperation Guesthouse (Nwoase - +233 248 973 829) and Falls Executive Lodge (+233 242 663 150).
