15 km from Gävle, due west, near Valbo. There is a world famous whisky distillery that you can visit. Named after the town of Mackmyra and its manor house where the first distillery was founded in the old days, the present distillery is now recognized beyond its borders. If you like single malt, don't hesitate to visit the distillery with a guide (www.mackmyra.se), and maybe you can buy a nice souvenir by buying a bottle at 720 SEK. You can also enjoy a meal at the distillery's bistro. Located 20 minutes by transport from the city center of Gävle.
