Right in the center of "petit Paris", this distinguished restaurant dates back to 1893 and is housed on the first floor of an ^18th century building. Very tasty cuisine, it is the occasion to taste a lamb fillet in a herb crust with potato and fennel terrine or a smoked salmon with fennel and marinated yellow beets. Connoisseurs will remember Lisbeth's favourite pub from the Millennium series. Typical dishes such as reindeer stew, herring, potato and onion toast and the famous meatballs are served here, as well as a wide selection of beers and cocktails.

A beautiful cafe located on the pretty Nytorget square, with a 1970s Parisian influence: floral patterns alternate with striped wallpaper in red and gold tones and trompe l'oeil library walls. Comfortable armchairs give the feeling of an old reading room. Large colored lanterns create a subdued atmosphere. Nice welcome, homemade pastries and sandwiches at reasonable prices. In search of a lost time, this gourmet restaurant offers a unique concept as chef Niklas Ekstedt and his team use neither electricity nor gas in the cooking process. The food is cooked over an open fire with birch wood, reminiscent of the traditional, slow, rustic cuisine of the Jämtland forests. This 19th century style restaurant is housed in an old building (rare enough to note) on Södermalm. Pelikan's history dates back to the 17th century and it moved to Beklingegatan in 1960. The clientele today is still a mixture of what it was over the centuries: workers, students, middle-class people live together in this place, under a 5 m high ceiling. The food is typically Swedish with herrings, anchovies, smoked reindeer or the traditional köttbollar (meatballs) with cranberries. A very busy place.

Inside Östermalms Saluhall, a building dating back to 1888, the Husmans Deli is a place of pilgrimage and gastronomic discovery. Located in Winterviken Bay, south of the city, this restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy Swedish specialities in a warm and friendly atmosphere. In winter, meals are served in the impressive red brick building that used to be Alfred Nobel's factory. In summer, you can sit on the picnic tables outside, just a stone's throw from the lake! Children are welcome here and it is a very popular place for young couples with their strollers and toddlers. A very pleasant and family atmosphere.

We clearly go there for the view of the city which is exceptional as it is a rooftop located on top of a brutalist architecture hotel, in the heart of the city, a few steps from Sergels Torg. Very good choice of drinks, from Japanese yuzu lager to sparkling sake and Eurasian cocktails. The star of the menu: the fish!

Discreetly located on Ringvägen, Södermalm's longest street, it's easy to pass by this "Little Café of Söder" without noticing it. This would be a great mistake, however, because when you push open the door of this modest stall, you discover an extremely welcoming place. The interior is a little bohemian, relaxed and the staff adorable. You can eat simple, home-made pastries at affordable prices: kanelbullar, carrot cakes or chocolate cakes... In short, this is a little haven not to be missed!

After a busy day visiting Djurgården's museums, come and relax in this new restaurant, which opened in May 2023. Located just beyond Skansen, it's well worth the trip. The setting is simply stunning, right on the water with a breathtaking view. The decor is rather original, with numerous boats hanging from the ceiling. We appreciate the finesse of the dishes and their Nordic influences. There's something for everyone on the menu: meat, fish and vegetarian dishes.

Teatern in Ringen Centrum, near Skanstull, combines fine dining with popular restaurants. Some of Sweden's top restaurateurs such as Magnus Nilsson, Adam Dahlberg and Albin Wessman, Stefano Catenacci and Nobel pastry chef Daniel Roos share the space and the 250 seats. It is in Årsta, about twenty minutes by transport from Södermalmn that nestles Två Små Svin, an atypical restaurant with Danish and Czech influences, specialized in smørrebrød, beer and brandy. The smørrebrød is a typical Danish dish which consists of a slice of buttered rye bread on which one comes to arrange various foods. The place is only frequented by locals.
