This small port is nestled on the edge of a fjord, between two islands bathed by the Baltic Sea and connected to the rest of Fiona by bridges. It is a quiet town, sought after for its calm, but which nevertheless offers many activities. With its almost 59,000 inhabitants, it likes to call itself "the smallest of Denmark's big cities". It is also a great center for navigation education. All children in Svendborg learn to hoist sails at an early age. In the Møllergade area, the longest shopping street in Svendborg, merchants and restaurant owners hold the world's friendliest street party every year.
