After the farm cider, Jules started distilling to make Calvados. The reputation and excellence of the beverage are passed on by word of mouth, from generation to generation. Today, Guillaume is the fourth to carry the family flag. Calvados from 3 to 40 years old, cider, pommeau and perry: give in to the temptation of a tasting.

We could stay for hours looking out of the window, eating with our eyes these jewels passionately prepared by Nicolas Barbet and his beautiful team. Each season, each holiday on the calendar is an opportunity for a sweet pleasure. From macaroons to "pièce montée", from nougatine to marshmallow! Here, we don't manufacture, we sculpt. We even saw pumps and lily of the valley more real than life in chocolate. This chocolate and pastry maker is an artist. An artist so passionate that he organises workshops to share his secrets. He fell into a Château Gloria at the age of 16 and made it his profession-passion! Sébastien, the enlightened owner of this cellar, shares with us his favourite sin. Trained at the same school as the well-known John Coleaux, sommelier-caviste in Rosel, Seb opened a place that he wants to be atypical and endearing. A cellar that hosts wine, beer, whisky and of course calvados tastings. An evening, on the first Friday of the month, allows everyone to get together for a time of discovery. Boards complete this moment of exchange and make Chai Seb a bit of a home.

In a pretty cobbled lane, one of the oldest in Lisieux, a ^15th-century building houses Chocolaterie Mérimée, which celebrates its 14th anniversary in 2024. The exterior is just as magnificent as the interior. Gourmets will find what they're looking for. After a spell at Lenôtre, Emmanuel made his dream come true and opened his own chocolate factory, much to our delight. Here, everything melts! You can also enjoy an old-fashioned hot chocolate in the tearoom. An address we can't recommend highly enough.

In 2021, Camille and Nicolas Barbet, already present in the Petit Futé with Récréation Sucrée, rue Henry-Chéron, took over this bakery-pastry shop. From now on, they also offer their loyal customers old-fashioned bread with top-of-the-range flour. Everything is homemade, and the pastry evolves with the fruits of the season. Lisieux, the capital of the Pays d'Auge, the second city of pilgrimage in France, is not only the city of Sainte-Thérèse; it is also a gourmet city!
