Accessible by road from Brezoi (18th-century wooden church), 40 km away, Voineasa lies in the heart of the Lotru mountains, in the valley of the same name. At an altitude of 600 meters, it is a spa resort with hotels perched on hills and surrounded by fir trees. It lies at the heart of a region that has preserved its rich and lively folklore. The surrounding landscape is pleasant, with forests, rock formations and a river with rapids ideal for fishing. Of course, there are plenty of hiking opportunities, from short hikes to nearby sights (Pietrele Albe, Saua Chica Lupului) to longer hikes in the massif.
