This city, bordered to the south by the Seomjingang River and bordering Jirisan National Park, is poetically nicknamed the "City of Love". Indeed, it's here, in the Gwanghallu garden, that the love story of one of Korea's most popular folk tales unfolds. We, too, can let ourselves be gently lulled by this ambient air scented with romance, and if we arrive at the right time (in May), we can take part in the Chunhyang festival (named after the heroine). A little fact about Namwon: it's twinned with Verona. And even the town's official logo is all about love, featuring a stylized heart. Aside from this characteristic, which will appeal to the more "flower-blue" types, it's a quiet town where you can enjoy the nearby nature. Very similar to Jeonju, it is also known for its pansori (traditional music) and hanji (traditional paper).
