A friendly, charming town in the southwest of the province, Jinju is bisected by the Namgung River, its most seductive feature. Around it are restaurants galore, including establishments serving bibimbap, Jinju's specialty. In this city rich in history and culture, the main attraction is the Jinjuseong fortress, famous for the role it played in the Imjin War of 1592 and 1593, during the Japanese sieges.By bus: from Seoul (Express bus terminal) there are buses every 30 minutes between 6 a.m. and midnight. It's a 3.5-hour drive and costs between 20,000 and 55,000 won.
