This small town in the south-east of the province is not in itself worth a visit, but it's a good starting point for exploring the beautiful surrounding region. It was around the town of Boseong that Japanese experts decided to develop tea plantations in 1939. Everything in the region is now dedicated to the aromatic shrub. Boseong is also famous for pansori, the Korean art of sung storytelling.
