In the northern part of the Jeollanam-do region is Damyang-gun, the name of the county, but also of the city. Its fame comes from the culture of bamboos which is its speciality. It is also the main tourist attraction of this area. It can be found in gardens, museums and even on the plate. Every year, a festival is even dedicated to it. It is not very useful to spend a night there given the proximity of Gwangju.Arrival by bus. From Gwangju, bus every 30 minutes (6am and 10.30pm). Allow 30 minutes drive. From Seoul, 2 departures in the morning (8.10 and 11.10 am) and 2 departures in the afternoon (2.10 and 5.10 pm). 3h30 drive.
