Created in 1960, Tierra del Fuego National Park is the southernmost protected natural area in Argentina. Located 11 km from Ushuaia, on the border with Chile and along the Beagle Channel, the park presents a variety of exceptional landscapes: rivers running through deep valleys, forests, peat bogs... Mountainous cordons separate the different valleys, making it difficult to pass from one to the other. The endemic fauna is notably characterized by guanacos and foxes. There are also introduced species: zorro gray, beaver, rabbit and rata almizclera. Raptors are represented by eagles (aguila mora). Its waterways, rich in salmonids, are ideal for sport fishing.
