Purists will say it is the southernmost city in the world! In any case, it is the southernmost city in Argentina as it lies further south than Ushuaia. Nestled on the banks of the Beagle Channel, this solitary fishing village is surrounded by coigüe forests. It faces the Navarino Island located across the canal and you will be able to see the town of Puerto Williams. Although the first inhabitants settled in 1966, the small Fuegian town has only about 20 inhabitants, most of whom live from spider crab fishing. To sample this specialty, head to the port where the tourist sailing boats depart from.
