These two lakes, easily accessible to the north of Ushuaia, offer opportunities for bucolic walks. Lake Fagnano is the largest lake in Tierra del Fuego and has the particularity of straddling between Argentina and Chile. Named Khami ("great waters") by the Selknam people who once populated the region, it now bears the name of the first Apostolic Administrator of the region, José Fagnano, who contributed in particular to the evangelization of the region's first peoples. Smaller and more discreet, Lake Escondido is a lake of glacial origin surrounded by Andean forests. You will be able to walk, fish or kayak
