Mountains mean winter sports! Here too, Bad-Württemberg has a lot to offer, with 70 peaks over 1,000 m in altitude. The first snowflakes usually fall as soon as the harvest is over. Nearly 170 lifts, 3 biathlon trails, some 250 km of groomed runs and over 20 certified ski jumps are available for the enjoyment of winter sports enthusiasts. For cross-country skiers, the Black Forest boasts some 2,000 km of marked trails. And let's not forget the well-designed winter hiking trails. The Black Forest deserves its title as the cradle of winter sports!

Mountain biking

As in South Alsace, Bad-Württemberg is a great place to cycle. Mountain bikes, racing bikes, marked circuits, everything has been in place for many years to enjoy sports and admire the magnificent landscapes! Many localities have made it a priority to welcome cyclists. The cycle route follows a loop from Freiburg around the Black Forest Natural Park with few gradients, the only real climb can be done by cable car, all that remains is to let yourself be carried away and admire the landscape! The 4-star ADFC classified itinerary is a good way to discover this region in complete tranquility.

Hiking

An ideal place to start your walks around Fribourg, because here you will find hiking trails with sculptures, arboretums and pedagogical panels with explanations about flora and fauna. Waldhaus seeks to raise public awareness of the forest ecosystem and promote sustainable forest. With several offers to children, the concept of the forest house is based on discovery as a means of understanding. Do not hesitate to participate in the green wood workshop and work wood with traditional tools. A nice small boutique of handicraft and local products will welcome you at the end of your visit.
