Goslar is a beautiful little town nestled at the foot of the Harz Mountains. It has an authentic old town with half-timbered houses. It houses an important monument, the Imperial Palace. Goslar was a capital of the Empire: its splendour dates back to the 11th and 12th centuries, when the Salian emperors and the Hohenstaufen ruled from this city over the Holy Roman Empire.
