Haliburton is a landlocked area between Algonquin Park and Muskoka, dotted with resorts, cottages and golf courses. At the heart of the region is the municipality of Dysart et al, incorporated in 1867, which includes the charming village of Haliburton. There are many lakes in the area (Head Lake, Grass Lake, etc.) and they invite you to go boating during the summer. You can rent boats on site. North of the village, near Kennisis Lake, is the Haliburton Forest & Wildlife Reserve. Take the opportunity to see the wolves in their habitat at the Wolf Centre, located on the reserve.
