Port Sydney is located between Bracebridge and Huntsville, at the centre of Muskoka's attractions. Located on the shores of Mary Lake, it is named after the pioneer who envisioned and planned it in 1873: Albert Sydney Smith. At that time, the development of the town was linked to the forestry and shipping industries, as well as farming and ranching. But when the train stopped serving Port Sydney, its future became uncertain before being saved by tourists who converted it into a real holiday destination. And its popularity remains after all this time (go and enjoy its beach, one of the prettiest in the region).
