Maison Saint-Gabriel is a must-see in Montreal. This museum and historic site is one of the oldest examples of rural architecture in the region. It invites you on a journey through time, exploring the cultural heritage of rural life between the 17th and 19th centuries. A variety of themed tours are offered, such as those on winter in the days of New France, or on the mystery of the origins of Lovers' Day, imagined by Eric Michaud. During your exploration, you'll be accompanied by animator-guides dressed in period costume, who will tell you the many stories that have marked these places. You'll also discover the memory of Marguerite Bourgeoys, Ville-Marie's first teacher, who purchased the site in 1668 and preserved its heritage. Learn about her role in the development of the Pointe-Saint-Charles farm. This former farmhouse was also home to the Filles du Roy. Learn about their exciting adventure and discover the work of the sisters of the Congrégation de Notre-Dame, as well as the impact of their commitment to social life.
