Understand the environmental issues of our time in a former emblematic pavilion of Expo 67, overlooking the city.

Inaugurated in 1995 in the former U.S. Pavilion at Expo 67, one of Montreal's architectural emblems and a project by architect Buckminster Fuller, the Biosphère unites culture, social innovation and the environment. Its many exhibitions and scientific activities provide a better understanding of the major environmental issues related to air, water, biodiversity, climate change, sustainable development, etc. The Biosphère offers a beautifully laid out space and a superb view of downtown and the St. Lawrence River.

Message from Management

Built in the heart of Parc Jean-drapeau, in the former Expo 67 pavilion, this museum focuses on environmental education. Its geodesic architecture, designed by Richard Buckminster Fuller, is an expression of contemporary environmental thinking. Since its integration into Space for Life in 2021, the museum has strengthened its commitment to raising awareness of environmental issues and the preservation of the planet. Young and old are invited to adopt eco-responsible gestures through the artistic installations and activities that are offered on site. Beyond its socio-responsible and cultural aspects, Biosphère is also a charming place that impresses with its green walls and its lights at night.

Une visite pédagogique vraiment très intéressante et malheureusement très actuelle et de superbes vues. L'architecture du bâtiment est également fascinante. Très facile d'accès depuis la ville.

Le site et l'architecture sont remarquables et valent la visite. L'exposition sur le changement climatique et les nouvelles énergies est très bien faite, concrète avec des animations. Pédagogique donc devrait intéresser les enfants et adolescents.
