While the hostel/hotel boasts a convenient location and offers pleasant service, the cleanliness standards in the rooms leave much to be desired. Stains on the cushions detract from the overall experience and suggest a need for improvement in hygiene maintenance.

Stayed for 3 nights in March 2024, lovely place and some things here exceeded my expectations of a backpackers, such as:
1) the Beds have curtains, so if someone turns on the light while you sleep it doesn't impact you so much.
2) The front desk gives free earplugs so you can sleep with someone who snores, which is usually a problem at backpackers.
3) I had no issues with crime/stealing
4) Free breakfast, which was very strange for a backpackers.
5) complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, which I've never seen before at a backpackers
6) Individual plugs at each bed for charging your phone and a small shelf for your belongings.
7) Manual dimming lights in the room. If you're the first to sleep, you can set it to a dim setting so someone entering the room a 1am doesn't turn on the bright light and wake you up.
8) Great location, next to the metro to access most of Montreal quickly

The only bad comment I would have is that I wish the kitchen pots and pans were in better condition, the knives were very dull, and that the dish soap was not watered down. Otherwise, this place very much exceeded my expectations of a backpackers!

In summary, this backpackers exceeded my expectations in several ways, I would fully recommend it to others. Mt stay was lovely, and I hope you stay here too so this place gets more business. They deserve to stay open for a long time.

I've stayed at Saintlo, M Hostel, and Aubuerge De Plateu but Samesun has to be my favorite hostels in Montreal.
It compares to hostels in Europe and the staff are absolutely amazing and inclusive with a fully stocked bar that's cheap and open late
If I was tired and jetlagged from travelling there is literally nowhere I rather be.
Beds are comfy breakfast (the muffins!) are awesome.

Je vous raconte mon ext dans ce hostel que je trouve catastrophique , j'ai bien réservé pour une nuit , j'ai payé et le paiement été bien affiché mais ???? le mec qui été. La caisse m'a pas laissé entré en raison que j'avais pas une carte de crédit pour payer une caution que je comprends même pas pourquoi , même si je l'ai présenté deux carte visa et carte débit et je l'ai demandé de payer cette caution en cache mais malheureusement veut pas , en faite c'était une expérience catastrophique et le mec était impoli je vous conseille pas

No hablan español y no dejan que el depósito sea en efectivo, solo con tarjeta, por tal motivo no me hospede el ese hotel

Le rapport qualité prix est très intéressant, ne vous attendez pas a quelque chose d'incroyable, mais ce n'ai pas très cher et là où vous ne serez peut être pas le plus confortable pour dormir, je puis vous assurer que pour ce qui est de l'ambiance et de la sympathie et efficacité du personnel vous serez ravis de pouvoir avoir cette petite zone de confort ou ne retrouve que de sympathique personne qui voyage tout comme vous, l'expérience humaine est vraiment cool si vous êtes sociable.

Et vous ne risquez pas de croiser des gens bizarre ou quoi, et si c'est la cas vous pourrez en parler au personnel pour qu'il fasse en sorte que vous vous sentiez plus confortable ????

Au top ! J'y retournerai pour mon prochain passage à Montréal

Only stayed a night but it was affordable, and a pleasant experience. Stayed in the dorms and it was pretty well kept. The free breakfast was a bonus too, great coffee!

The beds are very uncomfortable and noisy due to the waterproof mattress. It feels and sounds like sleeping on plastic. The room smells like it hasn't been cleaned in ages. The atmosphere isn't that great and the morning staff are rude. The evening staff are great and the new guy who started this weekend was really great at helping guests with their issues. I wouldn't stay here again and would take to heart the negative reviews, as many guests I spoke with had big problems here.

For this stay I booked a private room with a private bathroom. Everything I needed, had a desk where I could do work or eat if I wanted to eat alone. Bathroom had everything and it was nice to have the privacy. When it comes to the atmosphere, it was a bit lacking. There were events on the wall but the staff did not really put any effort to throw the events. This is in line with other hostel reviews, this is a nice hostel if you want to chill but if you want mroe of a community atmosphere where people hangout and converse, this is not the hostel for that!

I was not happy until I met some guys that made me change mind and stay over. Nice location. Can’t even compare with samesun of Toronto.

J'ai dormi dans un dortoir honnêtement j'ai trouvé sa formidable propre sérieusement je recommande ses en a peu importe qui en a besoin excellente place

L'organisation est catastrophique, le même lit est réservé pour plusieurs personnes à la fois, premier arrivé, premier servi.

Réservation annulée de la part du personnel au milieu du séjour sans aucune vérification avec le client ni check de la présence de ses affaires sur le lit, et lit affecté à une autre personne du coups je me suis retrouvé sans chambre à minuit et sans aucun lieu où aller !!!!

Personnel Arrogant et impoli (ils m'ont menacé de jeter mes bagages à l'extérieur et m'appeler la police si je me tait pas lorsque j'ai contesté et réclamé la mauvaise gestion).

Déjeuner pauvre, des ingrédients parfois disponibles et la plus part du temps non(céréales, jus, cake)

6 jours cauchemardesques se sont passés dans cette pension, je ne recommande pas fortement cet établissement et j'appel à le boycotter.

Super good folks. They accommodated a room for us during a booking discrepancy so definitely can't ask for better on the spot service. Everything was done in minutes and efficiently. The owner was amazing and responsive. Clean and good vibe.
