SOCIÉTÉ DE TRANSPORT DE MONTRÉAL (STM)

Getting around by metro
5/5
1 review

The public transit system takes you almost everywhere. The city has a metro (68 stations on 4 lines) that even goes to Laval (North Shore) and Longueuil (South Shore). If it is not in operation at night, more than twenty night buses take over and cover the entire city. The blue line of the metro will be extended to Anjou in the east of the city (inauguration date under review).

BIXI

Getting around by bike

BIXI (contraction of BIcyclette and taXI), a self-service public bicycle system, is available in several areas of the city. You can borrow a bike (including electric BIXIs) from one of the 900+ stations, either for a few hours or for the day (there are many special offers on monthly and seasonal subscriptions). It's extremely advantageous for people making short journeys each time. If you'd like to have a bike for your leisure time, we recommend you use a rental company.
