In 2006, after a long renovation, the beautiful Néomanuélin building (inaugurated in 1892), with the facade of glowing bricks and surmounted by sky blue domes, turned into a multi-functional space (shopping and underground parking) which could host events and shows throughout the year. The season of the touradas (Portuguese bullfighting) begins the weekend of Easter to finish in early October.
